ZTE to construct large-scale optical network in Kenya
ZTE Corp. announced yesterday that it has reached an agreement with the Kenyan government to construct a large-scale optical network that will cover the western part of Kenya. The construction is to be part of Kenya’s national backbone transmission network project, and is expected to enhance the transmission capacity of Kenya’s telecom industry, by providing a high-speed and large-capacity optical transmission channel.
The project is being undertaken to ensure Kenya and its neighboring countries have a business communications network capable of supportingtheir economic development.
ZTE will provide its Unitrans Series WDM (wavelength division multiplexing) ZXWM M900 equipment and ZXMP S385 to construct the network. The network will provide multi-service access, large capacity and transmission, and improved network stability.
