VisionChina Media appoints new CMO

Nasdaq-listed VisionChina Media Inc., one of China’s largest mass transportation mobile television advertising networks, announced the immediately effective appointment of Albert Tong to chief marketing officer yesterday.

Mr. Tong leads an estimated 180 marketing and sales personnel to sell airtime on VisionChina’s network that has a viewership of 26 million people per day on buses, subways and subway platforms in 15 of china’s most affluent cities in China, as of 31 December 2007.

With existing strong advertising relationships with leading multinational brands like KFC, Pepsi, and McDonalds, VisionChina is working to secure contracts with more multinational brands before the Olympic Games are broadcast on the company’s television network on Beijing’s public buses this summer.

Earlier this month, VisionChina expanded into the city of Taiyuan through an exclusive agency agreement with Shanxi Da Zhong Mobile Television Co., Ltd. to operate mobile television advertising on all public buses in the city.
