U.S. to set business advisory center in China

Georgia will establish a business advisory center in Beijing, the 11th international office of the U.S. state, in an effort to attract more trade and investment from China.

This newly-set center is the first in the Chinese capital by a U.S. state. The center is expected to introduce Georgia’s commerce and tourism opportunities to the world’s fastest growing economy, according to Sonny Perdue, a governor of Georgia, who is leading a delegation of about 40 people that arrived in China on Monday aboard Delta Air Lines’ inaugural non-stop daily flight from Atlanta to Shanghai.

The center, which will bring mutual benefits, will help China explore foreign direct investment opportunities in Georgia, while on the other hand assist Georgian companies establish new business ties with China and introduce Georgia’s tourism destination to Chinese travelers.

China has become the second biggest trade partner for Georgia. Georgia is striving to build closer ties with China via its container port, good transportation network and highly efficient labor.
