Trade in electronic information products hits US$804.7 bln

China’s foreign trade in electronic information products in 2007 rose 23.5% year-on-year to US$804.7 billion, according to official statistics.

However, the growth rate is 9.8% less than the same period last year.

China’s total exports in electronic information products hit US$459.5 billion, up 26.3% from the previous year but 9.5% lower in growth rate compared with 2006. The exports figure accounts for 37.7% of the nation’s total exports volume.

The total imports volume rose 20% to US$345.1 billion, 10.5% slower than 2006 growth speed, which comprises 36.1% of China’s total.

Among all electronic information products exporters, exports via foreign-funded firms were valued at US$309.3 billion, up 27.3% year-on-year, accounting for 67.3% of total exports volume.
