Hong Kong telecoms operator PCCW Limited announced on January 7 that it had inked a 15-year contract to rent the telecoms service center of China Netcom Group Corp. (Hong Kong) Limited in South China’s Guangdong Province.

Besides, it will rent related facility management services from China Netcom, the nation’s second largest fixed-line telecoms operator after China Telecom.

The maximum rent for the service center is CNY 20.1158 million for the first year and CNY 43.104 million for the last year. China Netcom Guangdong Branch gives a 5% discount in not only the rental but also related management charge to PCCW.

The Guangzhou branch of PCCW will be responsible for the payment of the taxes for renting the service center but not the management services. PCCW has a right to rent the service center and related management services for additional five years after the expiration of the 15-year term.
