Huawei to sell handset in Japan via eMobile

Huawei Technologies Co Ltd. (Huawei), a leader in providing next-generation telecommunications networks for operators worldwide, partnered with Japanese mobile operator eMobile to officially release its first handset in the Japanese market in mid-June, sources said.

The new handset H11HW comes with some cutting-edge features with modern appearance. It brings GSM connectivity with GPRS and EDGE plus HSDPA / WCDMA for data transfer speeds of up to 3.6 Mbps, Bluetooth, Web browser, push email, dictaphone, a 2.0 megapixel camera with video recording, USB 2.0, 60MB of internal memory and microSD card slot, totally weighing 105 grams.

H11HW is also installed with iDBS (indoor Distributed NodeBSystem), which will enhance its mobile data services in CBD and subway of Tokyo.

The handset also has a competitive edge in price. It will be sold for US$280 without a contract, or for US$56 with a two-year contract agreement and a “Shin Ninen” data plan, according to sources.

Tokyo-based eMobile is a subsidiary of Japanese mobile operator eAccess, engaged in providing handset products with ordinary function and lower price for the common consumers excluding business clients. Being relatively new on the mobile market, EMOBILE only has slightly over 500,000 customers, ranking the fifth largest mobile operator in Japan.
