Huawei showcases its ALL IP Broadband, Mobility and convergence solutions at CeBIT 2008
Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. (”Huawei“) a leader in providing next generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, is exhibiting its innovative ALL IP Broadband, Mobility and convergence solutions at CeBIT 2008, which is held in Hannover, Germany from 4–9 March 2008.
Huawei is presenting a comprehensive suite of robust ALL IP Fixed Mobile Convergence (FMC) and Mobile IP Network technologies across its major product segments Mobile Network, Core Network, Network, Applications & Software, and Terminal. These technologies and solutions are designed to leverage distinct benefits for telecom carriers, from TCO savings to reduced energy consumption.
Mobile Network
Huawei introduces a series of mobile solutions, concentrating in particular on WiMAX, LTE and Femtocell solutions and applications. A special focus will be put on Huawei’s 4th-Generation Base Stations (BTS). The new BTS are the first of their kind in the industry integrating multi-carrier technology, ALL IP and environmental protection. Enabling an end-to-end solution, they provide a multi-standard platform for GSM, UMTS, LTE, CDMA, and WiMAX and allow for a smooth migration from traditional to ALL IP and LTE networks. The innovative BTS will help operators to achieve their goals in terms of energy saving, emission reduction, fast network roll-out and TCO savings.
Core Network
Huawei showcase its innovative integrated solutions for ALL IP core networks. The ALL IP-based Mobile Softswitch 2.0 allows the integration of up to one million new subscribers to a network on a weekly basis. The highly reliable dual core softswitch reduces trans¬mis¬sion costs and positions carrier networks for IP voice services. Huawei’s 30Gbps Intelligent Packet Network solution offers a capacity which is 10 times higher than the capacity of standard solutions. It provides features like flexible service control, reporting and billing in 3G, WiMAX, HSPA and LTE networks. The IMS-based multimedia convergence solution IMS Liveâ„¢ is the first hosted platform for developing and demonstrating integrated IMS–Web 2.0 services.
Network
Huawei also presents its ALL IP broadband solutions which provide operators with various benefits. These benefits include cost reduction through an IP-based architecture, carrier-class availability and reliability through advanced timing and synchronization. The ALL IP broadband solutions support any kind of network, from copper, optical fiber to microwave. They help operators to simplify their network architecture and to realize FMC. Huawei can help operators to build an end-to-end ultra-broadband network. On display will be ALL IP broadband access and bearer network solutions, including Terabit FTTx, Packet Transport Network, 40Gbps ready OTN/ ASON-based multi-service WDM transport platform, Microwave, Carrier Ethernet solution, Security and Storage.
Applications & Software
In the field of Value-Added Services, Huawei presents its convergent service solutions which can help operators to master the challenge of FMC. Solutions include the Convergent Billing Solution, CBS, which addresses various complex billing requirements reducing the time-to-market for implementing new price plans from months to days. The Next Generation Intelligent Network (NGIN) platform enables a smooth, evolutionary integration of traditional intelligent network services with IMS and Internet services. Operators can provide a convergent service experience within short time and at low cost covering multiple core networks. A digital music solution and an integrated application for groups of users will also be displayed.
Terminal
In this segment, Huawei presents its latest series of mobile broadband terminals. First and foremost, the company launches the E510 which is the world’s first 3.5G datacard with mobile TV functionality. Smallest and slimmest of its breed, the innovatively designed E510 is a 2Mbps HSUPA stick equipped with mobile TV functionality that turns a computer into a TV set with direct access to TV signal. The device integrates mobile TV and mobile broadband, and can be used for PCs and laptops, readily applicable for both professional and entertainment purposes. Huawei will also showcase its award-winning products from IF, the “Oscar”in industrial design, including the V720 with mirror design, the HSDPA wireless gateway E960 and the E272 with compact and fashionable look.
Semiconductor
HiSilicon Technologies which is a Huawei’s subsidiary will show the chipsets Hi3510, Hi3560, Hi3570 and their applications such as IP Camera, vehicle DVR, Digital Photo Frame, IPTV STB and DVB-T (H.264).
