Dodge Avenger to be imported to Chinese market next January
Dodge Avenger will be imported to Chinese market by January 2008, China Securities Journal reported today.
Prior to the arrival of Avenger, Dodge has displayed two models in Shanghai Auto Show in April: Dodge Caliber, a small sport utility vehicle, will be introduced to Chinese market in completely built imported units and Dodge Caravan, a minivan, started local production in Chinese market last month.
Dodge brands will have four models in Chinese market: Caravan, Caliber, Avenger and Viper, which will also be introduced to Chinese market in completely built imported units, according to the company’s official Chinese web.
NSimon Elliott, president and CEO of Chrysler Group (China) Sales said that the arrival of Dodge Avenger will have an impact on China’s middle segment market.
Chrysler sold about 207,000 vehicles outside of the United States last year but only about 10,000 in China.
