Claro Brazil Strengthens Ties With Huawei Over HSDPA

Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. (”Huawei”), a leader in providing next generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, has deployed a commercial network based on HSDPA (High-Speed Downlink Packet Access) for Claro, a subsidiary of América Móvil, in Brazil.

The HSPA network that Huawei is building will provide wireless residential broadband services to Claro’s customers while improving the operator’s total cost of ownership through the deploying of distributed node b solution. Furthermore, IP-RAN solution will result in significant savings in its current transmission costs. Altogether these solutions can lead to a much quicker delivery of network implementation.

“Huawei has supplied us with innovative solutions which meet the requirements of the Brazilian market,” said Eduardo Moreno, Network Engineering Director of Claro Brazil, “Claro’s 3G network will bring more pleasant surprise and enjoyment to our customers.”

“Huawei is proud to support Claro and believes that the HSPA network will play a significant role in meeting broadband access needs in Brazil,” added Mr. Jack Wang, CEO of Huawei Brazil. “HSPA provides the fastest and most cost-effective solution for operators that want to offer broadband services that will provide their customers with an enhanced user-experience at a competitive price.”
