China’s Telecom company sees Indonesia as one of biggest markets in Asia Pacific

China’s Zhongxing Telecommunication Equipment (ZTE) sees Indonesia as one of the biggest market in Asia Pacific area and will strengthen cooperation with local telecommunication companies in the future, an senior ZTE official said Friday.

Cui Yi, president of Asia Pacific Region of ZTE Corporation, made the statement at a press conference held here to start a 10-day celebration for ZTE’s 10th Anniversary of operations in Indonesia. ZTE is a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions from China.

In the past 10 years, ZTE Indonesia has supported Indonesia with implementation capabilities (for mobile and fixed networks), service solutions, applications, sustainable R&D capability and services for customers.

Besides offering a unique and innovative product portfolio, ZTE has also forged strategic partnership with local entities including telecommunication providers, government, private sectors, and education institutions to shape the IT and telecommunication landscape in Indonesia as well as contributing to its Indonesian stakeholder communities through social responsibility initiatives.

According to Cuiyi, ZTE has set up six regional offices in Indonesia with its head office in Jakarta, which is also the office of ZTE’s Asia Pacific regional division platform.

“We see Indonesia as having tremendous potential for technology solutions that are affordable, efficient and environment friendly. We are pleased that we have been able to offer our wide range of products to this fast growing market.” Cui said.

So far, ZTE Indonesia has been collaborating with PT Telkom, PTTelkomsel, PT Indosat, PT XLcom. PT SMART, HCPT and MOBILE-8.” he added.

For the product category, ZTE’s CDMA products have been deployed in the networks of Telkom, Indosat, Smart, M-8 with more than 8000 BTS. While for GSM/WCDMA products, ZTE’s solutions have been deployed in the networks of Telkomsel, Indosat, and HCPT with more than 6,000 BTS.

In supporting the sustainability of the innovation of green technology, ZTE is providing solutions such as Green “Pocket ” base station-uBSS system, “Green” Ship uBSS Application on ship, and “Green” rural uBSS Application in rural areas. The system reduces the power consumption by 90 percent and carbon emission by95 percent.
