China Telecom works on details of CDMA network transfer
Department heads of China Telecommunications Corp., the parent company of Hong Kong-listed China Telecom, have left for China Unicom’s provincial branches in Zhejiang and Anhui provinces to investigate the transfer of CDMA network from China Unicom and negotiate details of the delivery work, according to Shanghai Securities News.
Meanwhile, the corporation had recruited 420 professionals of CDMA business, and reformed its organization after which the Mobile Communications Office and Northern Telecom Department will be dissolved.
However, as China Unicom’s additional subscribers of CDMA cellular service only increased 24,000 in June, China Telecom Corp. worries that “since the transfer period of CDMA business is the very time when no advertisement is available, and the longer the blank period lasts, the severer customer loss will be”.
Industrial analysts also advise the corporation to accelerate its progress of delivery work.
