China Steel Corp Q2 profit up 31.4% quarter-on-quarter
China Steel Corp., the largest steelmaker in Taiwan by revenue, on Thursday announced its unaudited pretax profit rose 31.4% quarter on quarter to NTD 18.84 billion in the second quarter of this year, market sources reported.
China Steel said its sales revenue amounted to NTD 66.97 billion, up 16.77% over the second quarter this year. No comparative figures of last year were provided.
In addition, during the second quarter, the steel output of Taiwan’s largest steelmaker totaled 2.57 million tons of steel, a quarter-on-quarter rise of 1.67%, while its sales dropped 1.05% to 2.59 million tons.
China Steel Corp is engaged in manufacturing various steel products, such as steel plates, steel bar and wire rod product, hot rolled products, cold rolled products, electro-galvanized steel products, hot-dip galvanized steel products and electromagnetic steel sheets, which are used for boats, containers, trucks, automobiles, furniture, home appliances, hardware fittings, computers, motors and transformers.
In addition to the local market, its products are also exported to overseas markets, including Hong Kong, Mainland China, Malaysia, Korea, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore.
