China Southern to lift fuel surcharges on some other flights

China Southern Airlines, the country’s largest carrier, will lift fuel surcharges on some other flights in addition to the projected increase for international flights, so as to cope with the impact of soaring oil prices, according to sources.

Starting from Jun.1, the surcharge on the flights from Korea to China, and routes between mainland China and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan will be increased, sources with the airline said.

The corresponding standard on the routes between mainland China and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan will increase to RMB 154 and RMB 308 from RMB 115 and RMB 230 respectively, and that on the routes from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan to Chinese mainland will rise to HK$171 and HK$342 from HK$125 and HK$250.

In addition, the surcharge for single ticket and round-trip ticket on the flight from Korea to China will rise to US$62 and US$124 from US$54 and US$108 respectively. There will be no change in the surcharge standard on the flight from China to Korea remaining at RMB 420 for single and RMB 840 for round-trip.
