China Railway units win contracts worth RMB 14.96 bln

China Railway Group Ltd<601390><390>, the country’s leading railway and highways builder, announced that its units have won eight contracts worth RMB 14.96 billion in total, accounting for 8.29% of its total income from major business in 2007 under Chinese accounting standards, according to its statement filed with the Shanghai Stock Exchange.

Of all the deals, China Railway No.4 Engineering Group Co. Ltd will be responsible for the construction of the SZ-1 section of the ShiJiazhuang-Wuhai Railway, which is worth RMB 4.72 billion and has a construction period of 1,172 days.

Its unit China Railway No. 8 Engineering Group Co. Ltd won a construction project for Section 1 of the Chengdu-Dujiangyan Railway in Sichuan Province, with the bid price of RMB 2.88 billion and a construction period of 457 days.

Meanwhile, China Railway Construction Engineering Group Co. Ltd was awarded two construction projects, one is Section WGFV of Wuhan-Guangzhou Railway and the other one in Shenzhen, with a combined bid price of RMB 1.78 billion.

Furthermore, China Railway Tunnel Group Co. Ltd won a construction project worth RMB 1.68 billion for Section XQLS2 of Lanzhou-Chongqing Railway Qinling Tunnel. Meanwhile, Tunnel Group and China Railway No.6 Engineering Group Co. Ltd respectively won construction projects for Beijing No.10 Subway with a combined bid price of RMB 1.50 billion.

China Railway No.1 Engineering Group Co. Ltd was awarded a highway construction contract in Tianjin and the bid price is RMB 1,190,920,000. Moreover, the No. 1 Engineering Group and China Railway Electrification Bureau (Group) Co. Ltd. each won a construction project of the Kunming-Hekou Railway, worth RMB 1.10 billion in total.

In addition, China Railway No.7 Engineering Group Co. Ltd sealed a railway electrization alteration project worth RMB 396 million for the northern segment of Yuci-Houma Section NTCG-5, in Nantongpu Railway.
