China-made Nissan to be exported to Egypt
Nissan Motor, one of the largest car makers in the world, will begin exporting passenger cars from its China joint venture, according to sources.
A joint venture in south China will export 400 Livina hatchbacks and Bluebird Sylphy sedans to Egypt, which marks Nissan’s first exports of cars made in China, said spokesman of Nissan, adding that the company will expand its exports to other markets in the future.
Currently, there are more and more foreign vehicle makers set joint venture to make vehicles in China, taking advantage of its low labor costs. Besides Nissan, General Motors has exported Chevrolet Lova compact cars made in China to Ukraine and engines to South Korea, while Honda Motor exports Fit compact cars, namely Jazz, which was made in South China, to other global markets.
Nisssan Motor, the third largest Japanese automaker, plans to increase investment to expand production capacity in China and introduce more than 15 new models. It targets to produce 689,000 vehicles in China this year, according to earlier report from China Knowledge.
