Taiwan’s exports to China top 30% of total

Taiwan’s exports to China from January to April surpassed 30 percent of the country’s total exports, recording US$26.09 billion and representing a rise of 20.3 percent year-on-year, according to the latest cross-Taiwan Strait trade report recently released by the Bureau of Foreign Trade (BOFT).

CBC releases first financial stability report

The Central Bank of the Republic of China (CBC) has released its first financial stability report, which covers the financial situation in 2007, with future reports to be released every six months.
The report is part of the central bank’s efforts to join a global trend in issuing such reports, it said in a statement Friday.

No plan to relax chip investment restrictions

The government has no plan to ease current restrictions on China investment by Taiwan chipmakers, Vice Minister of Economic Affairs Shih Yen-shiang said yesterday.

Chunghwa Telecom to build new subsidiaries in Japan, Singapore
