Finnish companies grow steadily with China

Jeweler plans more outlets

Hong Kong-listed jeweler Luk Fook Group plans to open more stores on the mainland to cash in on the rising demand for luxury jewelry.
“We plan to open six more self-operated shops there this year, in first-tier cities such as Beijing and Shanghai,” William Wong, the company’s chief executive, told China Daily.

Baosteel raises prices 20% to cover increased ore cost

Baoshan Iron & Steel Co said yesterday it would raise second-quarter steel product prices by up to 20 percent to pass on costs to customers after iron ore prices jumped.
The announcement, more than the market had expected, underlies the strong demand in the domestic steel market.

BYD Auto opens R&D center in Shenzhen

Imported cars represent 3.7% of Chinese market last year

China imported 314,200 vehicles in 2007, which represents less than 4 percent of Chinese automobile market, according to China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
