Consumption becomes No.1 engine of economic growth

BHP Billiton, Baosteel sign 10-year agreement

World leading iron ore provider BHP Billiton announced Wednesday it had signed a 10-year deal to supply China’s Baoshan Iron and Steel Co. (Baosteel) with an additional 94 million tons of iron ore.

China’s civil aircraft to debut in South America

According to the China National Aero-Technology Import & Export Corporation two Xinzhou-60 passenger planes will soon fly to Bolivia and operate under a local air carrier.
Huang Bin, a vic e president of the company, said the Xinzhou-60 aircraft will be the first batch of China-made planes in commercial flights in South America.

Suzhou Industrial park to build Laos economic zone

Even the idea of industrial zones can be exported.

Trade in electronic information products hits US$804.7 bln

China’s foreign trade in electronic information products in 2007 rose 23.5% year-on-year to US$804.7 billion, according to official statistics.
However, the growth rate is 9.8% less than the same period last year.
