Chinese mainland resumes sand exports to Taiwan

The Chinese mainland has given licenses to seven companies to resume sand exports to Taiwan, said a spokesman with the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council on Wednesday.
“For a long time, China’s mainland has made efforts to resume natural sand exports to Taiwan,” said Yang Yi, a spokesman for the office.

Tibet reports robust increase in foreign trade

Tibet Autonomous region’s foreign trade totaled 393 million U.S. dollars in 2007, a 19.81 percent rise from the previous year, local customs sources said.
It was the sixth consecutive year this southwest China plateau region had posted a double-digit increase in foreign trade.
